Dr. Humphrey is a second-generation physician. He is a native of Wichita Falls, Texas. Prior to joining Ohio Valley Surgical Specialists in 1997, Dr. Humphrey was in private practice in Vancouver, Washington. In 2007, he was among the first physicians in the state of Kentucky to become a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. In addition to his general surgery practice, Dr. Humphrey interprets vascular laboratory studies for Ohio Valley Surgical Specialists. He also evaluates and treats spider and varicose veins in the practice's Laser Vein Center.

Dr. Humphrey sees patients at the Owensboro and Tell City offices. He is on staff at Owensboro Medical Health System, HealthSouth Owensboro Surgery Center, and Perry County Memorial Hospital. Dr. Humphrey serves on the Endowment Board of Directors of Wendell Foster Center.
